Here is the clear performance chart for the Umarex T4E TC 68 with Power Adjuster Screw (guide values; measured for the 7.5 Joule and 16 Joule variants with the 2x12g Co2 adapter, internal temperature 23 °C, heavy .68 caliber ammunition and good seal fit):
TC 68 initial version | Factory performance | Possible final power with Power Adjuster Screw* |
---|---|---|
7.5 joules (“F” version) | 7.5 joules | 30 – 50 joules |
16 joules | 16 joules | 35 – 50 joules |
40 joules | 40 joules | 45 – 55 joules |
* Depends on cartridge temperature and gas pressure (CO₂ cools during firing), ammunition weight and fit, seal condition, manufacturing tolerances, and adjustment. Some setups achieve >50 J, others are lower.
Hints for realistic results
I already had another competing power adjustment screw on my TC 68 (16 joules), which was a headless Allen screw. It worked well, but I never achieved the advertised power and found the adjustment system to be rather mediocre.
This one is very similar to the original screw, it works exactly the same way, looks very similar, it's just a little longer which allows for more power. And according to my chronograph, it delivers on its promise, I reached 55 joules! That's easily 10 joules more than with the other one, and with the 2X12g adapter as well, I recommend it for all TC68 processors. It's inexpensive and very easy to install, no modifications required, just replace the original screw with this one, it takes 30 seconds.
