The active hearing protection COMTAC IV from Z-Tactical has two active microphones (one per capsule) that record the ambient noise and amplify it via the loudspeaker in the capsule. The volume can be freely selected . The controls are located on the left capsule.
All noises that are harmful to hearing, such as gunshots, are filtered out by the insulating material and do not reach the ear .
As soon as the noise level returns to normal, the ambient noise is immediately amplified again. The adjustable headband is wrapped in a pleasant fabric, which significantly increases wearing comfort.
The idea behind the design is removable in-ear headphones , which significantly reduce the overall weight of the hearing protection when no radio is used. The microphone can be mounted on the left or right of the headset. The hearing protection is powered by two AA batteries - one in each capsule.
